Tilt Walls

Tilt-up wall construction has been around for quite awhile, but in recent years, it has solidified itself as one of the fastest growing construction techniques in the country.

According to the Tilt-Up Concrete Association, “at least 10,000 buildings enclosing more than 650 million square feet are constructed annually.” Wondering why this method is so popular? It all comes down to time and money. Tilt-up projects are affordable and quick to construct, while also being incredibly durable and low maintenance. One of the most common applications of tilt-up wall constructions is the building of distribution centers and other massive warehouse buildings.

Our tilt walls are meticulously planned and constructed on-site under careful coordination. Starting with a slab-on-grade pour, these concrete panels are tilted up and into place using a crane. The walls are then supported by steel anchors called embeds, which secure the structure throughout the tilting process until after the decking and roof are installed.

Though the process is speedy and cost-effective, there are a lot of moving parts to organize on-site. Our team at Summit Concrete has extensive experience creating tilt-up walls and collaborating with fellow on-site contractors to get the job done in a safe, efficient and timely manner.
